Esse ano, o show irá acontecer em Atlanta, dia 17 de novembro, mas irá ao ar dia 27 de novembro.
Celebrando os 40 anos da marca Soul Train, a premiação desse ano está prometendo ser um dos maiores eventos do ano. Apresentado pelo ator e comediante Cedric the Entertainer, o show irá homenagiar Gladys Knight and Earth, Wind & Fire, com o prêmio Ledend Award por suas contribuições à música mundial.
